I have created a paper account with a specific value for the starting capital.

I would like to know if there is a way to synchronize this value with the parameter requested in Possizers that I need to enter in the simulation mode ?

I don't want to enter it manually each day in the strategy monitor but to have it automatically updated.

BTW, PosSizers are not recommended for Strategy Monitor workflows, as you can find in the User Guide > Strategy Monitor > Operational difference between the Strategy Monitor and Backtester.

I can understand the logic for an intraday strategy but it would be better for an EOD strategy to have the possibility to synchronize account values (and not only the size of a position).

The S. Monitor runs backtests on individual symbols and generates alerts for them. It won't run a single portfolio simulation on the DataSet; and therefore each symbol's run is unaware of anything else occurring in the "portfolio". That's why Portfolio Mode sizing loses meaning in the S. Monitor - it can't give you the same result as in a backtest in the Strategy Window because it doesn't create a single combined equity curve.

I recommend following the suggestion in the User Guide: Reference > Data Panel > Position Size Control > Position Sizing Tips for Trading. For EOD trading with Paper Accounts, you'll have to make sure the shares in the exit alerts match your positions if you actually alter the account value on a daily basis.

Edit: After re-reading, I think you were proposing that the S. Monitor work differently for EOD than intraday. We could put the idea in the queue, but I honestly don't think we'll get there.

Yes Cone : My suggestion was to have a different way of working for the strategy monitor if the data is an EOD. So, I'm happy to see that you are going to put the idea on the queue :-)

Thanks a lot !
