They seem very competive in terms of cost. I'm brand new at this; just wanted your confirmation there. Thanks,

In my book, IQFeed has worked well for years with Wealth-Lab: even before .NET. So, my answer is: "it depends".

1. What's your definition of "works well", i.e. what kind of task are you planning to solve??
2. You've been evaluating Wealth-Lab Pro, anything missing in Fidelity data you're trying to compensate with IQFeed, or?..

Eugene - by works well I mean will I be able to use IQFeed data for things such as tick by tick ES mini futures prices, NYSE $TICKs, VZO indicator, and sync them all up to create and test a rules-based system? I am creating an ES scalping system.

Regarding Fidelity, as usual they come up short. They do not provide the ES data, and they have onerous requirements to gain access to Wealth Lab such as 120 trades in a year at high commission rates. Fidelity 'ain't all that'. And their customer service is horrible.

Thanks for the clarification. We do not support tick-based data in the IQFeed provider (at least currently). Generally, Wealth-Lab is not about high frequency trading, and the Strategy Monitor tool gives a good hint about that by working only in 1-min and higher time frames, for good practical purposes (even though one can backtest on tick-based data and there's no such limitation for streaming charts).

As a U.S. resident, there is no alternative to obtain Wealth-Lab other than with qualified Fidelity account. We do not sell Developer to U.S./Canadian residents, sorry.

Eugene - I can work with 1 minute ES, in fact I will probably use either 1 min or 5 minute. However, it is indeed very bad news that I can't buy Wealth Lab direct. I see it in the price list. I have to tell you, Fidelity does not meet some very basic needs, and this even extends to IRA portfolio risk management, etc. They just ain't that great, man.

Oh well. Off to try (probably inferior) products since your rules exclude me. Guess you're in good company; Fidelity fancies themselves 'exclusive'.
