I have tried both MSN and Yahoo to update EOD data for the Dow Transports(^DJT Yahoo and $DJT MSN) both fail. The last good update for MSN was 5/3. I have checked both sites and they seem to have the current data for DJT. I also noticed that if I try ^DJI, the industrials on Yahoo, that also fails. Has something changed with regard to how you handle these updates?

Thanks, that explains Yahoo, but not the problem of MSN $DJT since 5/3.

The returned data for $DJT stops at 5/3. Since we're not a data vendor, the only way to get an explanation at first hand is by contacting MSN Money support.

ok, I can get the data I need independently to fill in the update that has stopped working. Is there someway to get at the $DJT symbol file that WLP stored on my disk so that I can update it manually(like an ascii display)?

There might be a way, depending on how (which form) and where you get that independent data.

the data I get will be in ascii form, so how do I access the WLP file? Hopefully in something like notepad.

See post #2 here:
Append data to BBFree? With one amendment: the path to the file (assuming Win7/8) would be --
c:\Users\
Windows account\AppData\Roaming\Fidelity Investments\WealthLabPro\1.0.0.0\Data\MsnStaticProvider\Daily\$DJT.WL
P.S. Let's add it to the
FAQ since this question is
being asked from time to time.

I'm having trouble finding the dataset. The provider is Fidelity and it is an index file(Dow Transports) and in Data Manager is called .DJT. Maybe the . in the name is causing a problem in my search of c:\Users\Windows account\AppData\Roaming\Fidelity Investments\WealthLabPro\1.0.0.0\Data. Any suggestions?

Search under FidelityStaticProvider/Daily subfolder. The file name will have DJT and a special symbol.

great thanks. Looks like they convert the .DJT to %2EDJT

ok, it worked like a charm. Fidelity keeps the transports up to date but does not go back as far as the MSN data. So what I did was bring in the MSN data and write it into the .DJT file from 10/1/1928 to 5/3/2013. I then updated the .DJT using Data Manager and it now contains all the daily data from 10/1/1928 to 5/16/2013. Thanks for all your help. In case anyone is interested here is the code.
