Why won't this simple strategy generate buy alerts

All it does is buy at the market and then sell at 30% profit or 10% stop loss. When I ran it in strategy monitor on streaming data, I expected that it would generate a buy alert to begin with. Instead, it issued 2 sell alerts.

What am I doing wrong???

Strategies always run in a theoretical sense. You got sell alerts because the strategy was hold historical position (theoretically) for those symbols.

If you just started trading a strategy and want to ignore its history, you can synch it to a specific date like this:
