I have a few strategies, which I would like to do some paper trading with.

Unfortunately the orders in the order window don't get filled.

Here is a screenshot what the orders window looks like:

There are 3 categories of order status:
1. Error: Insufficient Buying Power to complete Trade
2. Staged
3. Active => But the order doesn't get filled.

Here a few questions:
1. What does "Insufficient Buying Power to complete Trade" mean ?
2. What does "Staged" mean ?
3. Is there a step by step instruction/tutorial how to make the Paper Trading work?

FYI, links to an image hosting service containing something like "my-images" will not work for anyone but you. You have to obtain a direct link if you wish to share an image publicly.

1. It's pretty self-descriptive. There's no funds to buy in your account.
2. Please see the User Guide, Orders > "Stage, Place, Auto" which explains it.
3. User Guide > Orders > "Paper Trading", and "Auto-Trading Checklist".

I think I found an explanation concerning "Insufficient Buying Power" and an order being active but not getting filled (see my text above)

When selecting an PaperAccount in the "Account Balances and Positions" window, WL checks quite often wether my user data is still valid.
I think about 3 times during the last week.
After the check, I can see the available cash and the positions in the account.
And afterwards the active orders get filled immediately.

How often does WL normally check, wether the user data is still valid ?
I thought this is only about once month.
Because the user has to click a few buttons for the authorization, it could make
simulated auto-trading over several days a bit difficult.

I see no such connection. What I see is different, and it lines up with my explanation above. 502 shares of IBM or 12373 shares of AA at their current price is roughly equal to $100,000 - the default size of a Paper Trading account. Since these were "right-click" trades (made from a chart), your position sizing must be configured to nearly 100% equity. At the same time, more "reasonably" sized trades (like 4149 GE or 8 CSCO) had no trouble making it w/o being rejected.
