Is there a way to color a Histogram such that when its value is rising the bars are colored, say, green and when its value is falling they get colored red? A search of the forum didn't yield a result.

Hint: Besides the forum search there's trusty QuickRef (F12 key, Cosmetic Chart section). The method to accomplish is called SetSeriesBarColor and comes with a code sample that does what you request. Hope this helps.
